Bar Hopping, Reno Tahoe Style
Plenty of cities can boast a booming craft beer and distillery scene, but Reno-Sparks offers that and much more with some truly creative ways to experience the local bar scene. If you’re in the mood for an informative tour, or prefer to pedal your way through town with friends, there are plenty of ways to experience Reno’s bustling bar scene.
Get a group of friends together and take an open-air tour of bars and breweries around the Biggest Little City on Reno Brew Bike. By partnering with several local bars and restaurants, this partybike offers customizable tours of the city’s most popular watering holes. Individual seats on the bike can be purchased, or you can reserve the entire bike for Standard (2 hour), Extended (2.5 hour) or Ultimate (3 hour) Tours. The tours begin and end at 401 E. 4th St., next to Lead Dog Brewing Company.
Let your personality, or alter-ego, shine at one of Reno’s many themed crawls. Channel your inner superhero, show off your swashbuckling skills or stay cozy while you crawl in your favorite onesie. These are all possible throughout the year at various crawls in downtown Reno. Custom cups are available for each crawl, and the purchase of a cup gets you discounted drinks at participating bars. Check out the schedule of upcoming crawl events.
Leave the driving to someone else and take a ride on the Booze Bus – Reno’s newest craft beer and spirits experience. Each tour is different and includes a selection of stops at the area’s unique craft establishments, from breweries to distilleries. The tours are every Saturday from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.
A Reno classic, the Wine Walk is a monthly event that takes place every third Saturday of the month. Stroll and explore the merchants along the Riverwalk District, all while sipping yummy vino. Purchase a wine tasting ticket and wine glass at any participating merchant, and wander as you wish to any of the participating businesses for free refills.
