The region’s preeminent holiday celebration – Star Spangled Sparks – takes place on Monday, July 4, at the Sparks Marina.
The event kicks off with free hot air balloon rides at 6:00am and a $3 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Activities include a fun-run-walk around the Sparks Marina, Model Dairy Milk Carton Boat Races (build your boat out of milk cartons and enter the race), military fly-over and opening ceremonies, and the Sparks' Got Talent Competition. Enjoy arts & crafts and food booths, plus a large "free" ride area for children of all ages.
This eleventh annual celebration of family and freedom is highlighted by a 20-minute state-of-the-art pyrotechnic display, set off from the roof of John Ascuaga's Nugget’s, making the fiery light exhibition the longest and most spectacular show in the region.
