History

Thanks to some savvy business owners in the late 2000s, MidTown had a significant overhaul. MidTown District experienced a revitalization that transformed this area into a homegrown, eclectic neighborhood. It’s now considered one of the hottest neighborhoods in Reno.

The MidTown District needed change, and a few businesses got together and created the MidTown Merchant’s Association in 2008. The transformation took over ten years to get where it is today. These days, MidTown is filled with locally-owned businesses, historic buildings, and art walks to explore.

What Is Considered MidTown Reno?

MidTown is a short distance south of downtown Reno. The exact zoning for MidTown is a highly debated topic as there are no signs that say “MidTown starts here and ends here.” Even locals have a difficult time drawing an exact location of MidTown. There is an official Reno district map of guidelines of what area is considered MidTown. Many people, though, have their own opinion of what MidTown is. Some say you can just feel it.
