Nicole is the owner & creator of Studio Sculpt, a boutique pilates & barre fitness studio in Reno, NV. As a mom of two babies under two, Nicole is passionate about creating a space that allows women to feel their best & move with intention while pregnant, postpartum & beyond.

As a pilates enthusiast, studio owner and mom of two babies under two, I take my rest and relaxation very seriously. With more than a decade of spa experiences in Reno, I can confirm that we have some of the most luxurious places to recharge right in our backyard. Whether you are an overstimulated mom who needs some alone time, planning a date night with your spouse or organizing a girls weekend getaway, these tranquil spaces have you covered.

Romantic Couples Spa Date?

Head to Spa Atlantis at Atlantis Casino, one of the most romantic Reno couples spas. This is my favorite place to book for a date night. Out of all the spas, Atlantis has the most unique unisex spaces you and your partner can enjoy together. You’ll have access to the brine inhalation-light therapy lounge, laconium relaxation room and aqua lounge.

Before your treatment, meet your partner in the laconium relaxation room, which is full of heated contoured benches and a warm floor. It’s much more comfortable than a sauna and is the ideal place to relax your muscles while spending some quality time together. The aqua lounge is the perfect place to meet back up after your treatment to enjoy the jetted spa pools as well as each other’s company.

The deep tissue massages at this luxury Reno spa are excellent, but definitely a splurge. Most massages are priced between $180 and $240, depending on whether you book 60 or 90 minutes. For a more budget-friendly date, opt for a $90 day pass and take full advantage of the different rooms, plus the sauna, steam room, snacks and refreshments available in the locker room.

The best happy hour in town is one floor below the spa at Napa Bistro with its daily half-price menu from 4 - 6 p.m. My husband and I like to start there for a glass of wine and light bites before heading upstairs. I suggest booking a 6 p.m. couples massage and then enjoying the amenities until the spa closes at 9 p.m.

Spa Weekend Getaway with Girlfriends?

If you’re planning a Reno spa weekend with your girlfriends, the Spa Toscana at the Peppermill has a treatment for everyone in your party—facials, body wraps, massages and a full-service salon. The large sauna, steam, hot tub, cold plunge and lounge in the women’s-only space create an extravagant area to relax and socialize with friends.

Purchase a $95 day pass to enjoy the amenities for the day, or, if your budget permits, have all your friends book spa services around the same time. One of my favorite treatments is the 80-minute Lavender Dreams massage for $240. It includes a body scrub of marine oil with lavender salt to gently exfoliate your skin, combined with massage pressure points and gentle stretching for the ultimate spa experience.

When you’re ready for food and cocktails, take the elevator up to the indoor pool and balcony where you’ll find plenty of tables and lounge chairs. I love to order a bottle of champagne and share sushi rolls from the spa dining menu. There’s nothing better than an afternoon spent poolside at The Spa Toscana with your girlfriends in matching plush robes. It’s a top choice for a Reno spa getaway.

Need a Cozy Space to Decompress Solo?

The Refuge Spa at the Renaissance is perfect if you need a cozy and intimate spa day in Reno. The elevator to the spa is conveniently located by the front entrance, making it quick and easy to access. Their menu includes a variety of 30-minute express spa treatments, which are perfect if you’re limited on time. The Glow & Go facial for $160 or the Quick Fix massage for $85 are excellent treatments that can be booked together for a custom one-hour spa experience.

Booking any service at The Refuge Spa gives you access to the amenities – the locker room and shower area, infrared sauna, outdoor pool and large relaxation lounge. The Rise Bar is located inside the spa, where you can grab a cocktail, mocktail or coffee and order a snack. Order a drink and sit poolside or settle into the relaxation lounge. Nothing makes you feel more rested than an express treatment, a glass of wine and a good book in the quiet lounge at The Refuge Spa.
