Fiddler on the Roof
Robert Z. Hawkins Outdoor Amphithetaer at Bartley Ranch August 16, 2014
7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Sierra School of Performing Arts celebrates the 50th anniversary of the award-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof with a new production this August at the Hawkins Outdoor Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch in Reno. Directed by Janet Lazarus, the production takes the stage at 7:30pm August 15-17 and August 22-24, 2014. Filled with laughter and tenderness, Fiddler on the Roof catches the essence of a moment in history with sentiment and radiance by combining popular song, vivid dance movement, comedy and emotion.
Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, Fiddler on the Roof takes place in 1905, in Anatevka, a small village in Tsarist, Russia during the eve of the revolution. Tevye is a poor milkman who cares for his five daughters. While he and the rest of the elders in the village are deeply rooted in tradition, his daughters’ forward thinking clashes with Tevye’s principles and causes a rift in the family.
Tickets are $20/Adults (advance) $25 (door) $15 students/seniors and are available at www.sierraschoolofperformingarts.org or 775-852-7740.
