Reno Tahoe is Your Fishing Destination

The Reno Tahoe area has a variety of fishable streams, rivers and lakes for every taste.

For fly-fishing, the Truckee River offers some of the best water in the west - including a fly-fishing only, catch-and-release section - easily accessible from the Highway 80 corridor, and even through downtown Reno. To the south is the Carson River. And other streams and tributaries make Reno-Tahoe the perfect destination. If you prefer lake fishing, Lake Tahoe is the place to go for world-class mackinaw, and Pyramid Lake is famous for its Lahontan cutthroat trout fishery.
