Peppermill Resort Spa Casino Continues to Grow
This summer, the resort will reveal a one-of-a-kind, two story executive boardroom marrying a rich décor of walnut and marble with state of the art technology including individual business hubs at each of the board tables' 32 seats and a high-tech media and projection suite. With seating for a total of 52 in the boardroom, the first floor will house a perfectly appointed pre-function area for executive retreats, lecture series or more casual events. “Our rooms, restaurants, entertainment, meeting space…it's the best northern Nevada has to offer,” declared Hughes.
EDGE, Reno's hotspot for nightlife is committed to remaining fresh and exciting in the competitive club scene. The Peppermill has reinvested $2.2 million dollars in the stunning 8,000 square-foot venue, including a light and laser system designed to accompany the music and engage guests, an exclusive VIP Sky Box overlooking the dance floor and Pandora's Boxx - a stylized windowed dance platform featuring themed professional dance vignettes throughout the night. General Manager, Brian Kirgin is dedicated to keeping EDGE fresh. “I want our guests to have a different experience every time they walk through this door…to see something unexpected. Pandora's Boxx, our VIP service, the new Sky Box…EDGE rivals anything seen in Miami, Las Vegas or Los Angeles.”
Being part of the unique high desert canvas of Reno Tahoe has inspired the Peppermill to adopt sweeping green initiatives to dramatically reduce the resort's carbon footprint. “The Peppermill is both luxurious and technologically focused, but we are environmentally conscientious as well,” stated Hughes. The Resort has used geothermal energy to heat the domestic hot water for the Tuscany Tower, including the 43,000 square foot Spa Toscana and Fitness center as well as the two outdoor swimming pools and spas, since its inception in 2007. With the culmination of an $8.5 million investment, the entire resort is now on-line to heat space and water with geothermal energy.
The Peppermill has brought a bit of Rodeo Drive to Reno with the opening of two new boutiques - Bella Bottega and Garbati Bottega. Bella Bottega, a women's boutique, outfits a woman with everything she may need, from high-end home décor to clothing, shoes, jewelry and more - all at a great value. “I want people to be surprised when they enter the boutique. There is a gift for every woman in Bella Bottega…your best girlfriend, your mom, daughter and most importantly, you,” expressed Retail Manager, Makena Quinn. Garbati Bottega caters to men with varying interests and tastes, whether cool, classic or rugged. The men's store will easily equip any man from the golf course to cocktails or a night out dancing. “We want to focus on items that are unique, not just to a hotel or resort, but to Reno,” said Quinn.
Attention to detail is evident throughout the property. Executive Director of Hotel and Sales, Pat Flynn, feels the expansion inspired the current capital improvements taking place at the resort. “The upgrade of the property did not end with the expansion. The Tuscany development set a bar, our ballrooms and meeting rooms have all been raised to that standard.” A $1.3 million renovation of the second floor meeting rooms has included carpet, elegant silk wall coverings, enhanced new acoustic air walls and Tuscan inspired hand-painted artwork.
The resort features 1,635 luxurious rooms and suites, two Tuscan-inspired resort pools, 10 award-winning restaurants, 16 themed bars and lounges including EDGE Nightspot and the Terrace Lounge, free nightly entertainment in the Casino Cabaret, 24/7 gaming action, headliner entertainment as well as the 43,000 square foot Spa & Salon Toscana and Fitness Center featuring northern Nevada's only Caldarium with indoor pool, sun deck and Secret Garden.
