BRIEF DESCRIPTION    The Nevada Museum of Art feature exhibitions showcase national and international artists while the permanent collection of nineteenth through twenty-first century art is divided into five focus collections linked by an overall emphasis on art and environment.  Located in Reno, and designed by architect Will Bruder, the Donald W. Reynolds Center for the Visual Arts - E. L. Wiegand Gallery became the new facility for the Museum in May 2003. With its torqued exterior wall, suspended atrium staircase and views of Reno's skyline, as well as the Sierra Nevada, the building is recognized as one of the most distinguished architectural achievements in the state.

MISSION            The Nevada Museum of Art a museum of ideas. While building upon our founding collections and values, we cultivate meaningful art and social experiences, and foster new knowledge in the visual arts by encouraging interdisciplinary investigation. The Nevada Museum of Art serves as a cultural and educational resource for everyone.

HOURS OF OPERATION        Wednesday through Sunday 10 am to 5 pm; Thursdays until 8 pm
                    Closed Mondays, Tuesdays and national holidays

ADMISSION PRICES        Adults $10, students/seniors $8, children (6-12) $1
                    Children 5 and under are free; NMA members are free

TOURS                Guided Tours are available free with admission Thursdays at 6 pm (except First Thursdays), Saturdays and Sundays at 1 pm. Group tours can be arranged through the education department at 775.329.3333.

PHYSICAL SPACE        Features 13,482 square feet of gallery space for major exhibitions, 180-seat multimedia theater for presentations, recitals, and films, dining in Café Musée and street-level and rooftop sculpture galleries.
