Planning a wedding is a lot of work, and the big day may feel like a blur, but now it's time to slow things down and enjoy your honeymoon. Looking for a destination that has everything covered? Look no further than Reno Tahoe. Whether you're traveling from across the country or making the drive from another West Coast city, this is the place to find the ideal mix of romance and adventure.
Where to Stay
Perhaps your honeymoon festivities will take you all across Northern Nevada, or you’re interested in focusing your explorations within the Reno Tahoe region. Either way, this is the perfect location to book your stay, thanks to its vast options of things to do, places to stay, dining options, and most importantly, Reno’s proximity to everything.
For all-inclusive experiences, casino resorts offer a wide variety. Popular resorts like the Peppermill Resort Casino, THE ROW, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa and Grand Sierra Resort have their own amenities like award-winning spas and restaurants, as well as entertainment and of course, gaming.
If you’re looking to stay in downtown Reno, within walking distance of dining, bars and attractions, Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel and Whitney Peak Hotel are great options. Whitney Peak is home to the world’s tallest climbing wall, perfect for those adventure-seeking honeymooners. For beautiful waterfront views, great onsite dining and spa options, a stay at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel in the Riverwalk District is in order.
Looking for a more low-key experience? We have that too! Vacation rentals and boutique hotels are plentiful in Reno and Lake Tahoe.

Romantic Dining Options
Reno’s culinary scene is full of unique flavors and plenty of variety, so you can treat yourselves to a fancy dinner out and also balance your itinerary with more casual restaurants.
Beaujolais Bistro is a Reno classic and go-to spot for romantic occasions and celebrations. Serving upscale French cuisine in an intimate setting along the Truckee River, this is a must if you’re planning a special night. For a fine dining experience with a waterfront view of the Truckee River, try Toro Bravo, an upscale Mexican steakhouse with specialty cocktails. Another fine dining staple is Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse inside THE ROW in downtown Reno. This hibachi grill is a longtime favorite among locals and visitors.
Looking for something a little more casual and intimate? The menu at Liberty Food & Wine Exchange is created with locally-sourced ingredients and offers everything from shareable appetizers to housemade pasta and seasonal entrees. For those who love to try a bit of everything on the menu, Centro is the place for you. Their tapas-style menu is ideal for sharing (or not!), and their cocktail selection is also top-notch.
Reno’s brewery and bar scene is not to be missed. Hit up the Brewery District for a craft beer, or check out one of the many cocktail bars. If you want to infuse some tropical vibes into your Reno Tahoe honeymoon, grab a seat at Rum Sugar Lime. And if you’re dreaming of the Amalfi Coast, the drinks at Amari will whisk you away to an Italian summer.

Luxurious Spa Experiences
Many of Reno’s casino resorts have luxury spas, so you and your love can catch up on some much-needed relaxation without having to leave the comfort of your hotel.
Peppermill Resort Hotel
Visit Spa Toscana inside of the Peppermill for 25, 50 and 80-minute couples massage options. Make a day of it and lounge by their geothermally-heated pool.
Grand Sierra Resort
Grand Sierra Resort offers two couples massage options, perfect for honeymooning couples - the Love in the Sierra Couples Package and Couples Releaf Package.
Atlantis Casino Resort Spa
Not only does Spa Atlantis offer couples services, but they also offer private, romantic couples suites complete with tubs, steam showers and a ceremonial chamber.
Silver Legacy Resort Casino
The Spa at Silver Legacy’s Signature massage features a full body massage with scalp and face massages included, and can be booked as a couples massage.

Other Unique Experiences in Any Season
Spring
Saddle up for a horseback ride with Piping Rock Horses to catch a glimpse of the Northern Nevada desert and spring wildflowers in bloom. If you and your newlywed are total foodies looking to explore the local culinary scene, book a pedicab tour with Pineapple Pedicabs, with stops at must-try bites and lots of great sightseeing. And it’s not a trip to Reno Tahoe without some time on the water. Let Clearly Tahoe take you on a kayaking tour on the crystal clear blue waters of Lake Tahoe in a two-person clear kayak.
Summer
For the adventurous couple, summer is the season for Reno Tahoe. Hike Hunter Creek together to reach a rushing waterfall that’s ideal for honeymoon photo ops. Get on the water but let someone else do the navigating with a Lake Tahoe sailing cruise, where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the views together. If you prefer your views with a bit more altitude, try parasailing on the open waters instead. Unique Reno Tahoe events may be more your style, and in that case, attend the Reno Rodeo in June or join us in August for Hot August Nights to enjoy classic cars and music.
Fall
Locals love fall and most would probably consider it the perfect time to visit Reno Tahoe. The weather is amazing, the summer crowds have thinned and the events calendar is still packed. Attend festivals like the Biggest Little Latin Festival in September and the Great Italian Festival in October, which take over the streets of downtown Reno with food, music, entertainment and more. You can also catch the Great Reno Balloon Race in early September, a one-of-a-kind Reno event where you can watch hot air balloons float over the Biggest Little City. If you’re looking to get out of the city, try mountain biking or hiking together on the Tahoe Rim Trail and take in some fall colors. It’s also still warm enough for a lake day so don’t hesitate to rent kayaks or paddleboards and explore Tahoe’s shoreline.
Winter
If you’re having a winter wedding, or at least a winter honeymoon, we’ve got you covered! The region is famous for its concentration of ski resorts, but there’s more to do than just skiing when the snow starts to fall. Reimagine your favorite holiday romance and cozy up around a fire pit or make your way around the ice skating rink. If you’re ready to race through the trees, go snowmobiling in a winter wonderland. Warm up after your outdoor adventure at one of Northern Nevada’s many natural hot spring resorts surrounded by mountain views.

Other Tips to Make the Most of Your Honeymoon
What to pack
Reno weather can be unpredictable, and the climate between the city and the mountains can be very different, so pack layers and don’t forget your swimsuit!
Plan ahead
Take a look at your itinerary before you leave. Reservations are recommended for dinner at many places, and several attractions can get full during peak seasons. Map out your must-see spots to make the most out of your time in Reno Tahoe.
Getting around
Reno has plenty of options for traveling around without a car. We have classic options like Lyft and Uber, and a shuttle system to get you where you need to be reliably. Many casinos offer shuttle systems to and from the airport. Headed to Lake Tahoe for the day? No problem, we have shuttle services for that too.
