Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe

For a learning experience that is truly tailored to your abilities, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe offers private ski or snowboard lessons for you and up to four of your guests. Season passes or lift tickets are required for all participants and you'll get two hours of individualized instruction. This lesson format is perfect for first-time skiers and snowboarders, as well as those who want to improve their skills and confidence on the mountain.

Tahoe Donner

With two- and five-hour private lessons for both adults and children, Tahoe Donner is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard. Tahoe Donner specializes in teaching first-timers and novices, and they have equipment rental available onsite. Make sure to book your lesson in advance as times do fill up quickly!

Diamond Peak

Known as a beginner-friendly resort, Diamond Peak offers a variety of lesson and rental options for those who want to learn to ski or snowboard. There are group lessons for children ages 3 to 6 at the Child Ski Center, as well as lessons at the Ski & Ride Center for ages 7 to adult. These lesson packages include a beginner lift ticket and a 1.75-hour group lesson, with morning and afternoon lessons available. The resort offers group and private lessons throughout the season, with packages tailored for beginners, children, families and those seeking to enhance their skills.

And with daily ski shuttles from several Incline Village locations, getting to the resort is easy whether you're staying at the lake or in Reno.

Northstar California

With a wide variety of ski and snowboard programs for children, families and adults, at Northstar California, you will learn the basics from the best so you will be ready to explore the mountain in no time. For beginners, there are first-timer small group and private lessons available to teach you the fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding. Families can also book a private lesson together to learn the basics or take their skills to the next level.

Boreal Mountain Resort

Instructors at Boreal Mountain Resort will introduce you to skiing or snowboarding, tune-up your ski legs after a couple of seasons away, or improve your skills so you can take on more challenging runs. Book a one-on-one private lesson or a private family lesson so you can get coaching based on your current abilities and goals. Those new to snow can enjoy the Take 3, Ride FREE program offering a free season pass upon completion of three lessons.

Palisades Tahoe

Learn to ski or snowboard at Palisades Tahoe in either private or small group, half-day lessons with certified instructors. Beginners lessons take place on dedicated slopes with gentle terrain, perfect for learning foundational skills and building confidence. The resort offers ski and snowboard lessons for adults, children and families up to five people with equipment available for rent at the mountain.

Sugar Bowl

Whether you want to learn to ski or learn to snowboard, Sugar Bowl has several group lesson packages. Their First Timer Ski or Snowboard Package includes a half-day lesson, all-mountain lift ticket and rental equipment. The resort also has group lessons for children and adults, as well as private lessons so you can work on specific skills.
