Virginia & Truckee Railroad Tour
There is no better way to take in the beauty of Carson Valley than the V&T Railway. In its heyday, this historic railroad, which dates back to 1868, successfully operated 30-45 trains daily on the 55-mile railroad to support the booming mining industry.
The V&T is no longer a working train route, but since renovations in the early 2000s, it has become a historic tourist attraction. Offering a 24-mile round trip tour from Carson City to Virginia City, the Virginia & Truckee Railroad Tour is a fully narrated journey on a 1916 Baldwin locomotive, taking you through a scenic route of tunnels, canyons and mining towns.
