Let the Games Begin

Start Your Engines
It might not be game day, but that doesn't mean that these teammates aren't craving a little bit of speed and competition. Set the pace for your day with a few laps at Need2Speed, Reno's ultimate indoor go-kart track featuring high-performance karts that can go up to 50 mph. Need2Speed has karts for youth and adults, making this a great indoor activity for families as well.
Charles and Ky both gave it their all, and it was bumper-to-bumper through plenty of turns, but in the end, Charles took the top spot on the podium. The day is still young, so let's see who comes out ahead at the next stop.

Grab A Slice
You can't have a truly packed day in Reno Tahoe without stopping to fuel up. This place is home to plenty of dining options, but you can't go wrong with pizza and wings, especially from local-favorite, Noble Pie Parlor. May we suggest Wang Thang or The Resa Special? Grab a pie to share or order by the slice, and make sure to get a basket of their award-winning wings. You can sit inside, but if the weather is nice, we recommend a table outside on their covered patio.

Bird(eez) Is the Word
Games? Food? Drinks? All in the heart of downtown Reno? You must have found your way to Birdeez. This gem has plenty of games to choose from, but their mini-golf experiences are unlike any other. There are three courses to choose from, and each is guaranteed to offer just the right mix of challenge and fun, whether you consider yourself eligible for the mini-golf pro circuit or you haven't dusted off a putter in years. Ky and Charles tried their hands at the skee-ball-inspired Lucky Bells game, where Ky nailed an epic shot and tied up their tally for the day.

Creative Moves
You don't have to look very far in Reno to see evidence of the city's creative spirit, so what better way to take a break between competitive endeavors than walking the streets and discovering some of our incredible murals? Both downtown and MidTown are filled with dozens of larger-than-life art pieces. You can explore on your own, take a self-guided audio tour, or grab a seat in a pedicab for a personalized tour through MidTown.
Charles and Ky took advantage of some extra time in their day to wander past a few of our most striking public art pieces.

Time to Throw Down
Don't let the sharp objects flying through the air scare you; you've just entered one of downtown Reno's most fun social settings - Reno Axe & Social. If you didn't grow up in a family of axe-throwing lumberjacks or forgot to pack your flannel, that's fine. There are instructors on-site to teach you how to throw and make sure everyone stays safe. This is a perfect outing for friends, families with teens and even a creative date night. Reno Axe also has ping-pong, pool, air hockey and a full bar to keep you entertained between rounds of axe throwing.
So, who came out ahead in this round between the teammates? Both of them landed bullseyes, but it was Charles with the winning throw. It looks like Ky's covering drinks for the rest of the day!

A Walk on the Wild Side
Well, a winner has been crowned in today's epic showdown, but there's still time to get some fresh air and catch a sunset. And maybe make friends with a chickadee or two.
When you're ready for a break from downtown exploration, stop for some birdseed and take the short drive to Tahoe Meadows for a leisurely hike, where you might stumble upon some of the friendliest birds you've ever met. Park on the shoulder of Mt. Rose Highway and follow the trail into the forest. You'll hear the birds' distinctive 'cheese-BUR-ger' call, which is your cue to stand still and put some birdseed in your outstretched palm. This is truly one of the most unique Tahoe experiences you can have!
