Let's Dive Right In

Surf's Up

Surfing on a lake? Yep. You read that right! Whether you're a seasoned surfer, wakeboarder or water skier, or you want to try it for the first time, Tahoe Surf Company will make you feel like a rockstar. Your guides will work to create the perfect waves and coach you through the entire process. And yes, the water is THAT blue! So, even if you only get up for a few seconds, the views and time on the water will be second to none with this all-inclusive experience.

Early Bird Gets the Views

Set your alarm and take the scenic drive to Lake Tahoe Balloons to start your morning bright and early, setting sail on a hot air balloon. This is an experience unique to Reno Tahoe, where you will take off and land in the middle of Lake Tahoe. The average thrill seeker will enjoy an adrenaline rush that comes with this once-in-a-lifetime Tahoe water adventure. This experience is an unbeatable way to see spectacular views of Emerald Bay, Fallen Leaf Lake, Cascade Lake and the Desolation Wilderness. Finish the flight off with a champagne toast, mimosas and snacks upon landing.

Feel the Rush

Did you think Lake Tahoe was the only way to get on the water in Reno Tahoe? Think again. The Truckee River flows between Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake and offers miles of options for wild, rip-roaring river adventure. Float through rushing rapids on a guided whitewater rafting tour with Irie Rafting. You can opt for exciting rapids-filled trips, or if something mellow is what you have in mind, they have low-key float trips as well.

Time to Chill

Now that you've had your fill of thrills, let's take some time to chill. Plan a day to explore Lake Tahoe's stunning shoreline via paddleboard or kayak. This is a great way to get on the water, but go at your own pace and discover hidden coves that are only accessible from the water. Clearly Tahoe offers SUP and kayak rentals at Sand Harbor for those that want to paddle on their own, or you can book a tour to get all the insider tips to the best spots along the lake.

Rest and Restore

This trip is all about getting on the water so it only makes sense to book your stay at Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa, located right on the Truckee River. This hotel is a Marriott Bonvoy property (get those points!) and has wonderful amenities, include indoor and outdoor bocce courts, with a full menu and bar. Their onsite restaurant - The Shore - has patio seating overlooking the river where you can enjoy happy hour or refuel after a day of adventures. If caffeine is the name of your game, grab some locally-brewed coffee at Comics and Coffee. Visit The Refuge Spa for some well-deserved TLC before wrapping up your time in Reno Tahoe.
