Dining Around the University of Nevada, Reno

Whether you're visiting someone at the University of Nevada, Reno, considering becoming part of the Wolf Pack or just like the cool, youthful vibe that comes with university districts, there's no shortage of good eats. Here are some local businesses ready to serve up something delicious for small and large groups alike.

Pub N Sub

This pizza joint is slightly hidden, but universally loved. It's a great place to grab a beer and catch up with friends. Locals frequent Pub N Sub, not only because they love the spot, but because they never get bored of the menu! Along with a variety of pizza pies, they have over 20 different burger and sandwich creations, salad mixtures and your favorite pub snacks. Sit inside and watch a game or enjoy their backyard beer garden during those warmer days.

Little Waldorf Saloon

Referred to by locals as "The Wal," this is definitely a college hotspot. Not only is it walking distance from the university, it provides an atmosphere that makes you want to mingle and have fun. They have a full menu of bar food favorites like chicken wings, burgers and some tasty BBQ plates. When you're done chowing down, check out an arcade game, play some pool, hit the dance floor or try your hand at Monday night trivia.

Archie's

Another long-standing Reno favorite is Archie's Giant Hamburgers & Breakfast. As the name says, they cover all meals of the day and ensure that you never walk away with an ounce of appetite left! Their burgers really are gigantic and the breakfast burritos are comparable. It's not just the food that drives in customers, though. They have quite a bit of space and can satisfy whatever dining choice you prefer. Their ground level area has a local diner feel, while the upstairs caters more to sports fans. They also have an upstairs deck to enjoy those beautiful sunny days.

Rick's Pizza, Beer & More

Rick's Pizza, Beer & More is a campus staple and favorite among both UNR students and the Reno community as a whole. This is Rick's only location, making it a necessary stop when visiting campus. Whether you're in Reno for a Wolf Pack game or just craving some good food with friends, Rick's is always a good idea.

Crazy D's Hot Chicken

Also seen at Food Truck WTF and other local events, Crazy D's Hot Chicken is a must-stop if you're a fan of Nashville-style hot chicken. Serving up giant tenders, giant sliders, smashburgers, mac and cheese and more, their spicy chicken with their signature seasonings is a sure-fire hit for all. Hot tip: spring for an extra container of their special sauce.

Other Favorites

We love our locally-owned restaurants, but sometimes you're craving something familiar. The Reno campus is home to a couple of favorite chain restaurants as well, ensuring every taste bud is satisfied.

Raising Cane's

Conveniently located on Virginia Street and right across from the top of UNR campus, Raising Cane's is a favorite for a reason. Indulge in chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries and their signature Cane's sauce next time you're on campus.
