Mari Chuys Mexican Restaurant Margarita

Cheers! Refreshing and Unique Margaritas

Reno and Sparks are home to several beloved Mexican food spots, and tequila concoctions are one of the best ways to judge just how good they are. You may want to pair it with some tasty chips and salsa, or a heartier house specialty from their menu for maximum enjoyment. Here are some of the best local places known for their delicious margaritas (and satisfying menu options!) – based on Yelp reviews!

Favorite Margaritas in Reno and Sparks

Macho Tequila’s

Located in Sparks, Macho Tequila’s is a local favorite known for creating unique twists on favorite recipes. Stop by on a weekend night and you might catch a local band as well.

“We started with chips and a Grande margarita. This Cadillac was refreshingly strong! We ended up ordering another two later.” – April S.

Casa Grande

Casa Grande has two convenient locations – Robb Drive and Caughlin Parkway. Customers rave about their margaritas and bean dip, but their full menu has plenty of options for those looking for lunch or dinner.

“Tonight we started with their top-shelf El Presidente margaritas… it’s really 3 margaritas and super tasty.  Perfect blend of spirits that makes it a better choice than the Cadillac.” – Bruce S.

Mari Chuy’s Mexican Kitchen

You’ll find Mari Chuy’s Mexican Kitchen’s original location in the heart of Midtown, and their selection of unique margarita flavors matches the eclectic neighborhood in which they are located. Whether you choose a classic margarita or their famous jalapeño margarita, you can’t go wrong.

“…quickly greeted by a basket of fresh tortilla chips and jalapeño lime margaritas. I was concerned that the margarita would be too spicy for me, but it was an artful mix of tangy and spicy–a very pleasant heat.” – Brianna R.

Miguel’s Mexican Food

Come thirsty to either of Miguel’s Mexican Food’s locations because they are known for their generously-sized margaritas. Their original restaurant is in Midtown but you can cap off a day of shopping at their second location at the Summit Mall in south Reno.

“We had Margaritas at the bar – double pour of excellent tequila, in my top 5 all-time.” – Karl S

Antonio’s Mexican Grill

In the heart of downtown, Antonio’s Mexican Grill is a great spot to stop for a refreshing margarita while you’re strolling along the Truckee River. In addition to the margaritas, customers can’t say enough about their micheladas and other cocktail selections.

“Their margaritas with fresh fruit in them go perfectly with a couple tacos” – Cass D.

One of the latest addition’s to Midtown’s restaurant scene, Mexcal specializes in tacos and tequila so it’s no surprise that their margaritas are a favorite among locals and visitors. Try a classic margarita or branch out with one of their specialty margs – the sweet and spicy flavors in the pineapple jalapeño margarita will wake up your taste buds.

“We also ordered the ahi ceviche (5 stars), a pineapple jalapeño margarita (5 stars), and a classic margarita (4 stars). The pineapple jalapeño margarita is made with reposado, jalapeño, pineapple, lime juice, agave nectar, and is the perfect level of spice complimented by a himalayan salt rimmed glass. I literally couldn’t stop thinking about this drink for the rest of the weekend.” – Jeanna A.

Chihuahua’s Cantina & Grill

Specializing in traditional cuisine with family recipes, we recommend pairing any of Chihuahua’s Cantina & Grill’s menu items with one of their deliciously fresh margaritas. Stop by Monday-Saturday between 3-6 p.m. for happy hour specials!
