Cat and kitten lovers, have you ever met a Maine Coon, spied a Sphynx, consulted a Cymric or beheld a Bengal? These are some of the exotic breeds competing in an internationally sanctioned cat show in Reno, September 30 – October 1. Both purebred and non-pedigreed cats compete – maybe YOUR kitty can be a show cat. Local rescues and animal care groups, including Options Veterinary Care, Community Cats, Cat Chalet and Feral At Heart, will be there with information and adoptable felines. A raffle, vendors, book signings with renowned author and animal advocate Peggy Rew are part of the fun. This annual cat show is held by Sophisticats, a club in The International Cat Association (TICA) and partner with nonprofit Palomino Valley Pet Rescue (PVPR). For more information on the club and other exotic breeds you may meet at the show, visit Sophisticats of Reno on Facebook. Proceeds from the show and raffle will be donated to PVPR.
