The mesmerising harmonies, swooning strings and powerful percussion of Seattle’s Fleet Foxes is melancholy and uplifting all at once. Fans of the indie-folk group now have even more reason to swoon with the band’s announcement of a new album and international tour.
Even more exciting is the news that Fleet Foxes will be adding Reno to that tour, with one night at GSR’s Grand Theatre.
Fleet Foxes’ self-titled debut, released in 2008, made a profound impact on the international musical landscape, earning them Uncut’s first ever Music Award Prize, and topping numerous “Best of” lists, including Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums of the 2000s. The album included the delicate and beautiful “White Winter Hymnal” and “He Doesn’t Know Why”. Their follow up 2011 album, Helplessness Blues, was met with similar critical acclaim and was nominated for Best Folk Album at the Grammy Awards.
This June, Fleet Foxes will release their much anticipated third album, Crack Up. The teaser for the album on Youtube is already drawing excitement from fans. Watch the clip below for a taste of what to expect and don’t miss Fleet Foxes at the Grand Theatre this September.
