Celebrate Dad This Father’s Day
They taught us how to drive, picked us up from practice and now is the time to celebrate them - dads! Father’s Day is coming up and is the time to celebrate the father figures in our lives. Don’t just celebrate your dad, celebrate the beginning of summer, too! The official start of summer is just around the corner, so hit the links, cast a line or toast to dad this Father's Day weekend.
Celebrate Dad this Father's Day weekend
Tee It Up
Hit the greens with your dad and play a round of golf on one of
Reno Tahoe's numerous golf courses. They say our high elevation makes golf balls fly further - it's time to test that theory! From links-style courses to fairways with sweeping mountain views, a day on the golf course with your dad is a day well spent.
Fish On
Cast your line and try your luck catching rainbow trout, brown trout or the famous Lahontan cutthroat trout. The Truckee River is open year-round for fishing, just make sure to check the appropriate state's regulations before you. New to fishing? Get more

Cheers to Dad!
Sure, your dad might be the master of the grill during the summer but give him a break from cooking for his special day! Most
restaurants in Reno and Sparks are fully open for dine-in so you can treat him to his favorite meal. Since Father's Day falls right around the corner of the first official day of summer, enjoy lunch or dinner alfresco at one of the area's popular
patio dining options. And don't forget to toast to the man of honor at his favorite Reno Tahoe
brewery!
Hit the Trails
Get outside and log some miles on your favorite
hiking or mountain biking trail. No matter if your family is craving a leisurely stroll or a heart-pumping hike, there are miles of trails waiting to be explored. Before you head out, remember to review the
rules of the trail and recreate responsibly. Try out a new trail, who knows, it might become your new favorite!
Make a Splash
With summer underway, it means it's time to
get in (or on) the water. Treat your dad to a day of kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding along the shores of Lake Tahoe, or relax on the beach with a picnic. A dip in the lake is the perfect way to cool off after a day of adventures.
BBQ and Rodeo
Seize the day and take Dad to an event. The
Reno Rodeo kicks off on Jun 15th and runs until the 24th. Watch the mutton bustin' and bull riding, take Dad on the tilt a whirl and get some grub. The
BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival also kicks off the same weekend, June 16-17. Sample the tastiest BBQ and sip on brews while rocking out to live entertainment in downtown Reno. Either event is perfect for Father's Day.
Have a great day with your dads and happy Father’s Day from Reno Tahoe!
