4th of July Fireworks and Events
The most important question everyone always asks is, "where can I see the fireworks?" This year we have a collection of star-studded firework displays and fun-filled events perfect for the summer holiday.
Grand Sierra Resort is starting the holiday weekend with their third annual
Grand Fireworks Spectacular on July 2. Take a dip at the Grand Sierra Resort's pool and enjoy classic barbecue-style food and beverage options. The night ends with a fireworks display over the Grand Bay.
Add some more music to your weekend celebration at
Patriotic Pops at the Field on July 3 at 6 p.m. The Reno Philharmonic and chorus will play all your patriotic favorites, a salute to the U.S. armed forces, and recognizable pieces out on the Greater Nevada Field. The night ends with a stunning fireworks show.
Star Spangled Sparks is a favorite event among locals and visitors alike. This annual 4th of July event is hosted by the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks. Stroll Victorian Ave and enjoy the various food and beverage vendors and arts and craft booths that line the street. Then settle into your viewing area for the area's largest firework display launched from the Nugget's rooftops.
Make an entire day of it - explore the historic town of
Virginia City and stay for the fireworks show. The V&T Railroad will be running its steam trains all day and there's a parade downtown at noon. Secure your spot at the historic balcony of the Fourth Ward School Museum to marvel at fireworks over the Comstock.
Several locations around Lake Tahoe will have 4th of July celebrations taking place as well. Tahoe City is offering a truly unique
drone show that is eco-friendly and supports the sustainability efforts in the region. More than 100 drones will take the skies to deliver a memorable 4th of July show. Incline Village will also have a
sky show and celebration on July 4, complete with a live band, a drone show, a laser show, food trucks, and beer gardens. Trying to beat the summer heat? Cool off on the slopes at the annual
Palisades Tahoe Closing Day celebration on July 4 where you can take final turns on the mountain decked out in your most patriotic attire.
Visit South Lake Tahoe to watch
Lights on the Lake, which has been named one of the top five fireworks shows in the nation. The fireworks show will begin at 9:45 p.m. on July 4 and will be visible from all over South Lake.
Even More Refreshing Summer Fun
There's no better way to celebrate the 4th of July than enjoying the great American pastime at Greater Nevada Field. The
Reno Aces take the field for a homestand against the Tacoma Rainiers, beginning July 4, with a fireworks show following the game.
Summer is in full swing and the temperatures are heating up and that means it's time to hit the water. The 4th of July is perfect for taking your stand-up paddleboard for a cruise on the Sparks Marina or Pyramid Lake. If you're feeling adventurous, check out the
whitewater rafting tours available in the area as well. The family will also jump at the chance to spend the day at
Wild Island Family Adventure Park where you can spend the day relaxing in their Lazy River or racing down the various water slides.
