Not only do we pride ourselves on putting together a fantastic lineup of activities for tourists, but those who live here are the main reason our special events season continues to be successful. So, come join us at some of our favorite festivals and activities!


Reno Winter Bachata – Reno
This dance festival features instructors who have the knowledge dancers need to grow and improve their technique. The nightly showcase offers a professional stage with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, where dance companies from all over the U.S. show their talent and energy.


Reno AcesReno Aces – Reno
The 2012 Triple-A National Champions kick off Reno’s baseball season every April and play through September. Affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Aces are members of the Pacific Coast League; an MLB minor league made up of 16 teams that stretch from California to Tennessee. Aces Stadium is also home of the 2013 Triple-A All-Star Game in July 2013!


Spring Wings
Spring Wings Bird festival – Fallon  
Professionals from the Lahontan Audubon Society, US Fish & Wildlife Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife will lead birding and wildlife tours in the Lahontan Valley Wetlands.
Cinco de Mayo Festival – Reno
Northern Nevada’s largest celebration of Latino heritage includes music, amateur boxing, dancing, food and dancing horse performances.
Reno River FestivalReno River Festival – Reno
During one of paddle sports’ top whitewater events, athletes compete on the Truckee River in downtown Reno in kayaking, boater cross and a Stand Up Paddle Board race. Also featured is the popular “Run Amuck” obstacle course, food, live entertainment and an outdoor expo.


Reno RodeoReno Rodeo – Reno
It’s the “Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” and draws more than 750 professional athletes each year. Enjoy all of the fan favorites; including, two world class team roping events, professional bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bronc riding. The exciting western action features an authentic cattle drive, parade, Double R Marketplace for western shopping, carnival rides and delicious food.
Stewart Father’s Day Pow Wow – Carson City
Experience American Indian heritage, history and pride, and enjoy over 100 dancers, arts and crafts vendors and exhibits.
The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival – Reno
Fire up the grills, tap the kegs and crank up the tunes for Reno's best summer kick-off party. Enjoy live blues entertainment, great food and over 40 microbrews and 100 specialty beers to sample.
Nevada Humanities Chautauqua Celebration - Reno
Chautauqua is an entertaining history theatre in which audiences have an opportunity to interact with infamous figures from the past.


ArtownArtown – Reno
For the entire month of July, the festival offers nearly 400 events ranging from live music, dance, theatre, and performance to visual arts, workshops, multicultural events and tours, a majority of which are FREE! The National Endowments for the Arts has called Artown one of the most comprehensive art festivals in the country.
Reno 500 – Reno  
Centered around the world of off-road racing, Fireworks 500 features a week of action-packed events, including a music festival at the Tahoe Reno Motorplex. Race day features 500 miles of off-road racing, the longest in the country.
4th of JulyFourth of July – Reno & Lake Tahoe
Independence Day and fireworks go hand in hand and Reno Tahoe USA will not disappoint the pyrotechnic fans. There are a multitude of celebrations around the region to choose from, with some offering parades, picnics and other daytime activities, in addition to evening fireworks.
Red White and Tahoe Blue – North Lake Tahoe
It's a week full of good old-fashioned fun where everyone will enjoy the region’s largest fireworks display, a parade, festival, carnival, ice cream social and aerial and land military demonstrations.
Lake Tahoe Shakespeare FestivalLake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival – North Lake Tahoe
Imagine sitting under the stars on a sandy white beach at Sand Harbor as Shakespeare comes to life. An enchanting outdoor theater is nestled within a natural amphitheater with the indescribable beauty of Lake Tahoe in the background.  Enjoy gourmet dining and wine tasting at one of the most scenic venues in the country.
Reno Tahoe OpenReno-Tahoe Open – Reno
Recognized as a favorite stop on the PGA TOUR by its members, the annual Reno-Tahoe Open is one of only 47 stops on the PGA TOUR and the only one offering the exciting modified Stableford playing format. Watch golf legends like John Daly, Stewart Clink, Padriq Harrington and Justin Leonard.

Experience a world-class celebration of classical music, interactive visual and performance arts and seminars in the pristine setting of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Hot August NightsHot August Nights – Reno & Sparks
During Hot August Nights, cars are “cherry” and cruising is “cool” at the largest classic car and nostalgia event in the country. Cars are the stars and rock ‘n’ roll rules through dozens of concerts, controlled cruises, show ‘n’ shines, a sock hop and much more! Plenty of shopping can be found at the car auction, Big Boy Toy Store and Hot August Nights Swap Meet.      
Concourse d'EleganceConcours d’Elegance Wooden Boat Show – North Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance is one of the most prestigious wooden boat shows in North America, drawing more than 100 antique and classic boat entries.
Reno Gay Pride Festival – Reno
The annual festival is the largest gathering of LGBT people in Northern Nevada. Under cool shade trees along the Truckee River, enjoy a full day of live performances and entertainment, shopping with unique vendors, a beer garden and a variety of foods.
Silver State Showdown, Lucas Oil Off-Road Race Series – Sparks
Every seat has a prime view in this new world-class, short-course off-road track. Enjoy intense race action with high speed straightaways, massive elevation changes, mega air ski jumps and an assortment of obstacles.


Best in the West Rib CookoffBest in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off – Sparks
If you love ribs and barbecue, then be sure to come to the county’s most prestigious rib competition. Hosted by John Ascuaga’s Nugget, this annual event will transform the Labor Day holiday on Victorian Square into a finger licking culinary, music, craft and family end-of-summer affair. Enjoy the best ribs from across the USA!
The Great Reno Balloon Race – Reno
It is one of Reno’s most colorful and spectacular events. One hundred of the nation’s top hot air balloonists participate in multiple competitions and a mass ascension. A trademark of the race is the Dawn Patrol, which takes place before the sun rises and provides an amazing spectacle as balloons glow and twinkle against the dark sky. A wide selection of food, crafts, art, souvenirs and uplifting music complement this celebration of flight.
Camel RacesInternational Camel Races - Virginia City
This annual tradition features both camel and ostrich racing as jockeys from around the globe converge to compete for trophies and bragging rights.
Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival – North Lake Tahoe
Delight your palate with decadent food and wine in the beautiful setting of Lake Tahoe at this annual festival; featuring, cooking demonstrations, food and wine seminars, ultra-premium wine tastings, live entertainment, winemaker dinner and celebrity chef luncheons and dinners.
Reno Air Reno Air Races – Reno
The event is the only closed course pylon racing event in the world and is the world’s longest running air race. Six different classes battle just 60 feet from the ground, with the Unlimited and Jet classes reaching speeds over 500 mph! Besides the on-your-feet action of the races, spectators have close-up access to racing air craft pilots and crews in the “pits.” There’s a world-class air show, a large static aircraft display and great concessions. Experience the action of the “World’s Fastest Motorsport.”
Street VibrationsStreet Vibrations Fall Rally – Reno & Sparks
Enjoy HOG heaven at this celebration of music, metal and motorcycles. Everyone knows that the “Biggest Little City in the World” offers unparalleled entertainment on outdoor stages, parades, ride-in shows, stunts shows and bike cruises. Don’t miss America’s Finest Custom Bike Builder’s Expo and the Tattoo Expo for body art enthusiasts.
Candy Dance – Genoa
Relish in the small-town spirit at this ultimate candy and craft festival that features more than 350 exhibitors and 40,000 pounds of Genoa’s fabulous homemade candy.


Great Italian FestivalEldorado Great Italian Festival – Reno
The sights, sounds and flavors of Italy come to life in downtown Reno during the Eldorado Great Italian Festival. The festival, held each year over Columbus Day weekend, is a celebration of Italian culture and traditions.
Reno Celtic Festival – Reno
Delight in Celtic activities and performances; including, pipe bands, Scottish and Irish dancers, Celtic musicians, Highland athletic demonstrations, Celtic critters, kid’s games, food and merchandise.


NBA D LeagueReno Bighorns – Reno
Catch the NBA D-League Reno Bighorns, affiliated with the Sacramento Kings, the Memphis
Grizzlies and the Utah Jazz, and watch the future stars of the NBA show off their skills in Reno. In January 2013, NBA scouts and executives descend on Reno to watch players from the 16 D-League teams vie for an opportunity to impress during the NBA D-League Showcase.


Sparks Hometowne ChristmasSparks Hometowne Christmas – Sparks
It’s a wonderful weekend of traditional activities including a spectacular tree lighting ceremony and the annual Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade. The event typically held the first week of December, features a unique theme each year and historically includes more than 100 parade entries.
Nevada Chamber Music Festival – Reno
There is no better festival of this type during the holiday season. Renowned musicians are drawn to Reno for the privilege of performing with each other, making great music and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Past artists include leading players from the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra and Carnegie Hall.
