Parents – you know it can be difficult to find something to do that your teens will like, but these places and activities are just a handful of the many fun things to do in the area.

The Riverwalk District

Located in the heart of downtown Reno, The Riverwalk District always has something entertaining going on. If you are in need of some pictures for the ‘gram, Riverwalk has what you need. From Burning Man sculptures at Reno City Plaza to murals painted by local artists, this is a must-see spot. You can kick back and relax with the latest movie at Century Riverside 12 or head to Puzzle Room Reno for 60 minutes of brain-teasing fun.

Legends in Sparks

The Outlets at Legends in Sparks provides shoppers with more than 45 stores and restaurants. Scheels, a must-visit for any sports enthusiast, offers a huge selection for almost every sport imaginable in their 295,000 square feet, two-story space. This mega store also features an indoor sixty-five foot Ferris wheel. Across the street is Wild Island Family Adventure Park, which offers activities for all ages such as mini-golf, go-carts, bowling and much more!

Grand Sierra Resort Bowling Center

Got any “spare” time? Head over to the Grand Sierra Resort Bowling Center. They are equipped with 50 lanes and offer nightly specials. While you wait for your lane, be sure to check out the arcade downstairs. Fun Quest is 40,000 square feet of games and attractions. Play laser tag or challenge your friend to bumper cars. Want to escape reality a little bit? How about going to battle with some zombies or aliens. The new virtual reality center is sure to test your skills. This teenager hotspot is the place to be!

Need 2 Speed

Rev your engines and head to Need 2 Speed! This indoor karting venue is the perfect year-round activity for teens, especially if you want some time behind the wheel but are still too young for the road. And these aren’t your run-of-the-mill amusement park karts – Need 2 Speed’s electric karts are capable of speeds up to 45 mph! You must be 13 years old or older and at least 56″ tall. They are open seven days a week and open until 11 p.m. on weekends. Grab your friends and go racing!

El Rancho Drive-in Movie Theater

The El Rancho Drive-In is an all-digital drive-in and fun for the whole family. Grab a bit to eat from the fully stocked snack bar and stretch your legs in between films at their arcade. All tickets include a double feature! Their state of the art digital projector dwarfs your typical indoor theater, and the audio is sent to your car via a digital signal on the FM dial. You will feel like you’re in the middle of the action!
