Join music director Laura Jackson and the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra for Classix Four with the Reno Philharmonic’s very own Neil Tatman on Oboe d’amore. Classix Four features an interesting mix of old and new. Bach’s Concerto for Oboe d’amore is a Baroque era piece that will feature Tatman on the slightly darker and deeper sounding Oboe d’amore. The concert continues with works by Respighi and Brahms, two composers that take old themes and old forms and cast them in a new light. Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances-Suite II takes ancient Renaissance dances and sets them with a huge orchestra. The concert closes with Brahms’ Symphony No. 4.
