In partnership with the Holland Project, the Nevada Museum of Art presents Paul D. Miller, aka DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid in a live performance accompanied by a quartet of Reno Philharmonic musicians, led by Dustin Budish, performing live. Local favorite Frkse opens the show. Grab a bite from DISH and SAUCE WAGON food trucks outside, and a drink at the cash bar inside.
Miller is the musical genius behind Ice Music – a series of symphonic compositions and electronic quartets that interpret the environments of the Arctic and Antarctic.
A CD release of original material from Miller’s 2011 Art + Environment Conference performance at the Museum, with a Reno Philharmonic string quartet, will be available for purchase, and an exhibition based on Miller’s recent publication, The Book of Ice, will be on view in the Museum’s CA+E Gallery through October 28, 2012.
