The Storm National Mixed Championships featuring the Open Festival of Bowling offers a chance for the youth to compete in a National Tournament and win scholarship money.
Part of the Fesitival of Bowling, the Youth Singles event offers youth a chance to win scholarship money for their education two different ways. For an entry fee of $20, bowlers enter the handicap division prize fund and for an additional $15 bowlers can use their scores bowled in the handicap division for a scratch division prize fund. The entire $15 goes towards the prize fund in the scratch division and $12.50 goes towards the prize fund in the handicap division.
Bring your parents along (or even your grandparents) and bowl in the Adult/Youth Doubles event. Entry fee is $40 for the team of which $25 goes to the prize fund. For an additional $15 your scores will be used for the scratch division prize fund. All prize fund monies are paid to the youth bowler in the Adult/Youth Doubles.
Additional Scholarship money is being added to all of these events courtesy of the Storm National Mixed Championships photographer. For each photo package purchased during the tournament, the photographer donates a portion to the youth events scholarship prize fund. In additon, this year Storm Bowling Products and the Reno Tri-Property hotel/casinos - Circus Circus, Eldorado, & Silver Legacy is adding money to the entire tournament prize fund of which some of it will be used to increase the scholarship prize money paid for the youth events.
