Fat Tuesday feasts and Mardi Gras merriments are soon-to-be underway in Reno Tahoe. Come hungry, come thirsty, and come prepared for a wild weekend. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Let the good times roll!
Let’s begin with they’re handing beads out in all of their restaurants!
Sterling’s Seafood Steakhouse, Pearl Oyster Bar & Grill, and Café Central will be serving a Mardi Gras feast to mark the celebration. Enjoy delicacies like Gumbo Ya Ya, New Orleans BBQ shrimp with white rice and smothered cabbage with Andouille, blackened CAB rib eye steak, and Bailey’s and coffee cheesecake with praline syrup and Chantilly cream. Mardi Gras would not be complete without some quality adult libations – like a traditional Muddy Water or Hurricane!
Enjoy a fun, party atmosphere with free, live New Orleans-style music, $5,000 in free play giveaways, face painting, a caricaturist, Cajun food and drinks, free Marti Gras beads, free party favors and free King Cake!
All of the Nugget’s restaurants will feature special, Cajun-style menu items during the Parti Gras event, including Duet of Cajun Rib Eye & Prawns Etouffee at The Steakhouse Grill, Cajun Chicken Andouille Pasta at The Noodle Hut, “Ragin’ Cajun” Dinner buffets on Friday and Saturday at the Rotisserie Buffet, a Parti Gras Brunch on Sunday at the Rotisserie Buffet, Oyster Bar Jambalaya and more! Traditional Marti Gras beverages, such as hurricanes, will also be available for purchase.
Saint Gabriel Celestial Brass Band will be performing on the Village stage from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. The American jazz & blues, soul & funk band was formed by Tom Wiggins in 1990 and has performed around the world.
Mardi Gras Mask Face Painting
Giggle & Grin Face and Body Art will be on-site three days over the holiday weekend to delight kids and adults with free Mardi Gras mask face painting. Face painting will happen inside Starbucks.
