Your Guide to Easter in Reno Tahoe
Everyone’s clothes are a little bit brighter, the flowers are blooming, and that giant bunny we all love is coming out of hibernation! Easter is on April 20, and there are plenty of egg hunts, festivals, and meet and greets with Mr. Bunny himself here in Reno, as well as other traditional events with a little Easter twist. Here are a few events that will be held at Reno Tahoe:
Community Easter Egg Dash at Idlewild Park – On Saturday April 19, the Easter Bunny will making an appearance at Idlewild Park! The festivities begin at 11 A.M. and end at 12:30. It is completely FREE, but food donations will be accepted for the Bridge Food Pantry to help people in need in the Reno community. Call (775) 323-7141 for more information.
Easter Bunny Festival -If you find yourself in Sparks on April 19, the Sparks Crossing Shopping Center is having a Easter festival! There will be goodie bags, games, prizes, a petting zoo, face painting, and a bounce house! The party stars at 11:00AM and ends at 3PM.
Reno Wine Walk– Just like every month, the Reno Wine Walk will be on the third Saturday of April, which means it is right in the middle of Good Friday and Easter Sunday! Relax by the river with friends and sip some delicious wine from 25 different bars! The theme this month is wear your bunny ears! For more info, click here!
Virginia City Easter Bonnet & Pet Parade- Taking a road trip to Virginia City for this annual family-friendly event will definitely be worth it. This parade will be on Saturday, April 19 and will start at 12:00PM. Bring your dog, cat, lizard, or your family and participate in a wholesome parade! There will be delicious food, great people. and of course great atmosphere (it’s Virginia City, what do you expect!?)
North Lake Tahoe Easter Festivities
The Underwater Egg Hunt at Incline Village Recreation Center kicks off Easter celebrations on April 12, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The pool at the Recreation Center will be filled with weighted and floating eggs. The Big Bunny will make an early appearance for pictures and encouragement. For more information, call (775) 832-1310. Price: Recreation Center members $2; non-members $4.
Get a head start on the festivities during Easter Weekend at Tahoe City’s Spring Eggstravaganza & Egg Hunt. Events include an egg hunt for the kids, a golden egg hunt for parents, face painting, games and more. Activities start at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19th at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. Price: Free.
The community Egg Hunt at Incline Beach also begins on Saturday, April 19 with the Spring Eggstravaganza Community Egg Hunt. Grab your basket and join in the fun, starting at 11 a.m. The hunt is open to children up to 11 years old. Come early to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and check out the new North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Engine.
Northstar California will celebrate with daylong festivities for all ages. Starting with an egg hunt across the Village at 10:30 a.m., followed by a PEEPS® Diorama Contest. Take a ride around the ice-skating rink and a picture with Easter Bunny. Don’t miss the chance to catch the Easter Bunny skiing on the mountain during the day.
Squaw Valley’s annual on-mountain Easter egg hunt begins the moment the lifts open Easter Sunday. Remember to bring your Easter basket and hunt for the candy filled colored eggs hidden across the mountain from Gold Coast to High Camp, along Shirley Lake and all the way down Mountain Run.
Sugar Bowl– Join the kids for an Easter egg hunt on the morning of April 20th in America’s only snowbound Village, located at Sugar Bowl Resort. Then head out on the mountain to find the Golden Egg, which contains a free 2014/15 Midweek season pass.
