Thanksgiving 2013 in Reno Tahoe
Invite the family to give thanks and feast in Reno Tahoe this Thanksgiving! Send the kids to the ski slopes while mom enjoys a world renowned spa day, dad hunts, grandma shops, grandpa museum hops, and best of all… no need for “noes goes” for doing the dishes! And, here are a few menus to preview:
The Thanksgiving Harvest Buffet at Biscotti’s will feature bountiful gourmet selections including carved herb crusted breast of turkey and classic sides such as sweet yams. Café Milano offers a Thanksgiving menu of roast Tom turkey with sage dressing and giblet gravy and mashed potatoes. For dessert, traditional pumpkin pie with whipped cream will be served. The Island buffet will offer a chilled seafood bar of shrimp, crab and oysters, roasted Tom turkey, and all the traditional fixings. Bimini will present a four-course feast featuring roasted turkey or brown sugar glazed ham. Pumpkin cheesecake house-made cinnamon gelato is served for dessert. Oceano offers a twist on the traditional Thanksgiving dinner with wood grilled fillet of beef and all the trimmings. A classic turkey dinner will also be offered with pumpkin or pecan pie for dessert. Thanksgiving at Romanza Ristorante will feature traditional roasted Tom turkey with rosemary scented jus, Italian sausage and apple sage dressing, orange glazed yams with Pumpkin cannoli served for dessert.
The Buffet prepares classics like maple glazed ham and roasted rosemary leg of lamb plus deep fried turkey with Southern extras. Guests will also find traditional Thanksgiving dinner trimmings like buttermilk whipped potatoes, oven baked candied yams with marshmallows and pecans, and corn bread stuffing with bacon and sage. Dessert rounds out the meal with pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, apple-pear-cranberry crisp, chocolate cream pie and bread pudding with rum sauce. Roxy will be serving a special three-course Thanksgiving dinner with pumpkin ravioli with toasted hazelnuts, shaved parmesan and brown sage butter, roasted turkey roulade with porcini mushroom, chestnut-sausage stuffing, Duchess sweet potato-mallow brûlée and English cheddar corn soufflé. Pumpkin pie crème brûlée with Bourbon whipped cream and peach praline tops off the meal. The Prime Rib Grill menu starts with deviled eggs spiked with Black Forest ham and a trip to the famous salad bar followed by slow roasted turkey with mashed potatoes, orange-glazed carrots and served with a platter of stuffing, yams and cranberry sauce with pumpkin pie for dessert. At Tivoli Gardens, Thanksgiving Day specials will be offered like the roast turkey dinner, Thanksgiving macaroni and cheese made with roast turkey, peas and carrots in a white cheddar cheese sauce, baked with a crispy stuffing topping.
Gourmet Thanksgiving Dinner, Grand Ballroom proudly presents the spectacular all-you-care-to-eat gourmet dinner. At Toucan Charlie’s Buffet & Grille enjoy the Champagne brunch. Atlantis Steakhouse is serving a Thanksgiving Four Course Prix-Fixe Dinner with a choice of Slow Roasted Tom Turkey or Wood-Fired Chilean Sea Bass. Bistro Napa offers a Thanksgiving Four Course Prix-Fixe Dinner with your choice of Classic Southern Turducken or Oven Roasted Prime Rib. Manhattan Deli features a Turkey Deli Platter, “Big Apple” Turkey Sandwich or Open-Faced Turkey Sandwich. Purple Parrot offers a Three Course Prix-Fixe Dinner featuring Traditional Turkey Dinner with Apple-Pecan Cornbread Stuffing. Oyster & Sushi Bar on the Sky Terrace will have fresh sushi, fantastic seafood, and fabulous views.
Feast on limitless options at The Rotisserie and Rose Ballroom buffets. Entrées include Roasted Turkey with all the trimmings, Filet of Salmon, Candied Yams, House-made Mashed Potatoes, Fried Chicken and more. The Carving Station will serve up the Nugget’s Famous Rock Salt Roasted Prime Rib of Beef and Honey Glazed Ham. Live music will complete the celebratory atmosphere. The Steakhouse Grill will serve a limited specialty three-course menu, beginning with a choice of Roasted Pumpkin and Indian Corn Chowder or Mixed Field Greens with Candied Walnut Vinaigrette. For your entrée, choose Traditional Roast Turkey, Line Caught Salmon Filet, or Guinness Braised Short Ribs. For dessert, enjoy your choice of Pumpkin Cake or Turtle Cheesecake. Celebrate Thanksgiving Polynesian style at Trader Dick’s and enjoy a Mai Tai with your turkey! A special three-course menu will feature your choice of Ginger Spiced Pumpkin Soup or Trader Dick’s Salad, along with an entrée choice of Roasted Tom Turkey, Sweet and Sour Sea Bass or Asian Duet of Beef Tenderloin & Scallops. For dessert, enjoy Turtle Cheesecake or Pumpkin Cake. A gourmet buffet at the impeccable Restaurante Orozko offers Roasted Tom Turkey, Top Sirloin, Oven Roasted Leg of Lamb, Field Mushrooms and Ricotta Risotto, and Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The carving station features the Nugget’s Famous Rock-Salt-Crusted Prime Rib of Beef and Virginia Dry-Cured Glazed Ham. Rosie’s Café will also serve a three-course selection, featuring Roasted Tom Turkey, Virginia Baked Ham or Maple Glazed Baked Salmon.
So many options to choose from with their wide variety of food stations! From the classic carvings station, enjoy slow roasted Prime Rib of Certified Angus Beef with au jus sauce and horseradish cream and butter milk potatoes, or Tom Turkey, orange-cranberry relish, Sausage and sage stuffing, maple butter glazed sweet potatoes with spiced pecans and green bean casserole. Or head over to the Pumpkin Patch Action Station for pumpkin gnocchi, pumpkin and goat cheese risotto, and pumpkin ale braised short ribs. The dessert station will be serving pumpkin, pecan and apple pies, spiced walnut pumpkin Cognac cheesecakes, tiramisu panna cotta, brioche sticky buns and more! Plus they have a kids corner for food specifically made for your little ones’ liking.
At the Americana Café you will enjoy a three-course meal with turkey and all the Thanksgiving favorites: stuffing, honey glazed carrots, white cheddar mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry pear relish and your choice of butternut squash soup or a house salad. Top off this meal with dessert; old-fashioned pumpkin pie or apple pie. The Steakhouse will start the amazing meal with either a house salad or the decadent lobster bisque. For your entrée, you have your choice of traditional New England roast turkey, filet mignon or wild Atlantic cod served with honey glazed baby carrots, roasted sweet potatoes with marshmallows and candied pecans, pearl onion and hickory bacon spinach and parmesan gratin asparagus. Finish this delectable meal with homemade pumpkin cheesecake or warm pecan pie served a la mode with eggnog ice cream. Thanksgiving in the Courtyard Buffet will be carving a giant steamship of beef, fig and orange glazed ham served with assorted mustards and cherry-wood smoked beef brisket. There will also be some unconventional options like our pizza station, South-of-the-border station and the stir-fry and noodle station. Save room for the chocolate fountain with all the amazing dippables. For a Thanksgiving south of the border, Dos Geckos Cantina with serve sizzling turkey fajitas, white cheddar mashed potatoes, jalapeño “spiked” green bean casserole and your choice of spicy tortilla soup or a house salad. Finish it off with homemade pumpkin cheesecake made in our bakery.
Thanksgiving Brunch specials at Elements Buffet include prime rib of beef, slow roasted turkey, maple-glazed ham, lemon pepper crusted Tri-Tip, Korean-style short ribs, shrimp and scallop Alfredo, pan-seared Muscovy duck breast, grilled New York steak, crab legs and oysters. Charlie Palmer Steak has a fine selection of options, like Maine lobster crepes, a colossal prawn cocktail, or lobster and corn ragout for starters; main course options include a free range turkey dinner, Yukon gold pomme puree, roasted sweet potatoes, and traditional or cornbread sausage stuffing; and be sure to save room for dessert – chocolate pecan pie, maple ice cream and pumpkin pie are a few of the options. Grand Café is dishing a Turkey or Prime Ribe entree with choice of soup or salad, and dessert. The menu at Briscola boasts butternut squash ravioli, prosciutto wrapped grilled pears and roasted pumpkin with toasted pumpkin seeds in the selection for the first course – main course and dessert selections are similar to Charlie Palmer Steak.
