Dickerson Road Brings Art to Reno

Just north of Idlewild Park, running along the Truckee River lies Dickerson Road. During the summer you can find community events taking place and live music. No matter the season, many of its little spots will be filled with the buzz of creativity and chatter of enthusiastic creators. Make a stop to feel the magic for yourself.

Reno Art Works provides space for local artists to build, paint and create unique pieces. Many of the art pieces around the area, including those that made the trek to Burning Man, originated here. Guests are welcome to come check out the latest creations when they host their Artist Reception for the current month’s show every second Thursday and Open Studios every third Saturday of each month.

Sierra Water Gardens

This hidden gem offers everything you need to make a beautiful garden. Whether it be a pond in the backyard or an indoor succulent garden, they have a unique selection of supplies and offer classes to help you succeed in perfecting your garden artwork. The beauty doesn’t start when you leave, the venue itself is an inspiration. Come enjoy live music on their back porch Saturdays during the summer and surround yourself with a naturally beautiful hideaway.

The Wedge Ceramics
2095 Dickerson Road

This 4,000 square foot industrial space gives artists a chance to expand their creativity while creating their own ceramic pieces. Some artists are monthly members while others just pop in for a one-time use. There’s no shortage of diversity in their works of art and guests can peek inside if the artists are there or by making an appointment. Consider taking a class; they have a little bit of everything to offer!

Reno Home Brewer

Technically speaking, brewing beer is an art in itself. Home brew is rapidly growing in popularity and Reno Home Brewer provides everything aspiring brewers need. Find supplies to make beer, wine, cider and soda. The staff has several years of experience in the industry and is willing to help during store hours, Tuesday-Saturday. They do offer occasional classes, typically the first Monday of the month, to familiarize those wanting to learn the trade.
