4th of July
The best weekend of the summer is almost here, 4th of July! Celebrate Independence Day at some amazing events and with even better all-American food, with the beautiful backdrop of Reno Tahoe; the fireworks are sure to be spectacular! Grab a drink and a slice of watermelon and sit back and relax this 4th of July weekend.
Here’s your guide for the 4th of July in Reno Tahoe:
July 3rd Beach Party & Fireworks: Start the celebrations early at the North Tahoe Event Center, right on the beach at Kings Beach State Recreation Area! From 4-10 p.m. enjoy food vendors, mixed drink garden, free watermelon eating, sand castle building, patriotic costume contest, games, music and, of course, fireworks!
Star Spangled Sparks: Hang out on Victorian Square and watch the region’s longest fireworks display set off on the roof of the Nugget Casino Resort. Live entertainment, a kid’s areas and different food choices help complete the evening. Food and beverages will be from 4-9:30 p.m., with entertainment starting at 5 p.m. The fireworks show is set to begin at 9:45 p.m., if wind conditions are unsafe the show will be delayed until wind conditions improve. Tune into KKOH News Talk 780 Am to hear the corresponding music to the fireworks, wherever you are watching from.
Red White and Tahoe Blue: Featuring a hometown parade, beer and wine tastings, ice cream eating contest, historic mountain bike events, a beach-front carnival and an all-American concert series under the stars. Oh! And of course the largest fireworks display at Lake Tahoe.
Independence Day Celebration: Reno Aces v Sacramento River Cats: Cheer on the Reno Aces at the Aces Ballpark with hot dogs and lemonade. The only, and biggest, fireworks show in Reno will be after the game!
Biggest Little City Wing Fest: Ready for some finger-lickin’ chicken wings with microbrews on the side? Visit the Biggest Little City Wing Fest over 4th of July weekend at the Silver Legacy. This annual event serves over 20,000 pounds of chicken wings each year, bibs are optional.
Fourth of July on the Comstock: Located in Virginia City, this authentic day starts with a parade, raffle and auction, old-west shootouts, train rides and shopping. Ending the day with the area’s longest fireworks off Mt. Davidson into Six Mile Canyon.
Genoa Americana Celebration: Celebrate with bluegrass and string band music, educational and children’s activities and a fire department barbecue. Located at the base of the Sierra Nevada range, this event takes place at Morman Station State Historic Park in Genoa.
The Whiskey Heroes: The Saturday Concert Series at the Freight House District at Aces Ballpark with, “The Whiskey Heroes.” Celebrate with live music, forty-eight beers on tap and many different types of food.
Independence Day with DJ Pauly D at LEX Nightclub: At the Grand Sierra Resort it will be twice the party, the ultimate Independence Day party and DJ Pauly D’s birthday bash.
