Calling All Rib Lovers!
If you love ribs and BBQ, then be sure to attend America's BEST rib competition. The 26th annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off, hosted by John Ascuaga’s Nugget, will transform the Labor Day holiday on Victorian Square in downtown Sparks into a must-attend culinary, music, craft, and family end-of-summer affair. Come out and enjoy ribs from 23 of the best cookers from across the world! As always, parking, admission and live entertainment is free.

All food booths will be open from 11:00am-9:00pm (Wed-Sun) and from 11:00am-5:00pm on Monday. Food and concessions will be available during event hours only. The Kids' Area is open every day. Pets and non-service animals are not permitted on Victorian Square, per local regulations.
The Rib Village is a VIP area within the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off where you can get UNLIMITED ribs and drinks for up to 10 people. Tables will be available for purchase; click here for more info.
Parking and Event Shuttles
Free parking in the surrounding areas of Victorian Square.
Conveniently park off-site and leave the driving to us! FREE shuttles will be offered from Legends at Sparks Marina (pick-up location between Fudrucker's and Popeye's). Shuttle service will be offered on Wed-Sun on the following extended schedule:

Nugget World Rib Eating Championship
Major League Eating (MLE), the governing body of all stomach-centric sports, will host the 9th annual Nugget World Rib Eating Championship at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, at the Main Stage area. The country’s best competitive eaters, including Joey Chestnut will vie for $5,000 and the title of World Champion.It’s estimated the top competitors will consume eight-plus pounds of meat during the 12-minute competition.
As always, the Nugget will welcome many talented musicians to be a big part of the celebration. Free headline concerts include:
Lit - Wednesday
Eric Hutchinson - Thursday
Joan Osborne’s Soul Revue - Friday
Joe Diffie - Saturday
Jefferson Starship - Sunday
Robert Randolph & The Family Band - Monday
All headline concerts will be at 7:00 p.m. except Monday, which will be at 3:00 p.m. In all, more than 40 bands will play on multiple stages throughout the six-day Victorian Square event.
