Imagine sitting under the stars and on a sandy white beach at Sand Harbor as Shakespeare comes to life. An enchanting outdoor theater is nestled within a natural amphitheater with the indescribable beauty of Lake Tahoe in the background. Its one of the most scenic venues in the country.  
 
Imagine your toes in the sand, a vintage bottle of wine, a gourmet meal and a night of first-class entertainment with your friends and family, all while basking in a perfect Lake Tahoe sunset.  You're not dreaming, you're experiencing the enchantment of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.   The 40th anniversary season commences with an exhilarating production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona that features gorgeous costumes and stunning sets with shows on Tuesday-Sunday evening.
 
On Monday evenings, the Shakespeare cast takes a night off and the outdoor stage features music or performing arts which have become equally as popular as Shakespeare. 
 
July 16 - Broadway on the Beach, featuring the Reno Philharmonic
July 23 - Under the Western Sky, featuring the Reno Philharmonic
July 30 - Giselle, featuring the Sierra Nevada Ballet
August 6 - Mrs. Robinson, the ultimate classic rock & pop band playing hits from the 60s to present
August 13 - Chautauqua: Marie Curie & Mother Jones
August 20 - TOCCATA-James Rawie & Friends: A Continuing Requiem for John Leinen
 
The concession area opens at 5:30 pm for pre-performance gathering including the Kitchen and Bar. Patrons may also bring their own picnic dinner to enjoy on the beach.  Performances begin at 7:30 pm every, night of the week. Shows end roughly 2-1/2 hours later at around 10:00 pm and include a 15 minute intermission.  Parking is FREE after 5:00pm for Festival patrons.
