July 1, 2013 -July 31, 2013
For the entire month of July, Reno is Artown!
Artown offers over 500 events ranging from live music, dance, theater and performances to visual arts, workshops, multicultural events and tours. The Festival brings distinguished artists from around the world, across the country and those that live in our community all for the sake of cultural diversity and artistic innovation. The cornerstone of the festival is it’s free events; more than 60% of the events are free, including the popular Opening Night (July 1) and Closing Night (July 31) concerts in Wingfield Park.
Artown events take place at approximately 115 locations throughout Reno, Sparks and include venues at Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. The festival’s main location is scenic Wingfield Park, located along the Truckee River in downtown Reno.
Artown's "Little Book" is a handy pocket-size schedule of Artown events and will be distributed throughout Reno/Sparks, including the downtown Visitor Center inside Reno eNVy. Click here to view the virtual "Little Book."
The National Endowment for the Arts called Artown one of the most comprehensive art festivals in the country. For a preview of this year's highlights, enjoy the video below.
