The stars of women's bowling will compete under the stars in downtown Reno!
Bowling's US Women's Open is the sport's most prestigious event. Over 300 of bowling's greatest women players will go head to head in qualifying rounds to earn one of five coveted spots in the finals. The qualifying rounds will take place on June 21-26 at the National Bowling Stadium, also known as "The Taj Mahal of Tenpins." The finals will be held on the evening of June 27, literally under the stars in downtown Reno.
Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA) and the Biggest Little City in the World are definitely thinking BIG. The unprecedented finals competition will take place on temporary bowling lanes constructed on the streets of downtown Reno, with the famous Reno Arch as the backdrop. Opening ceremonies will begin at approximately 7:00pm and there will be a special tribute to America's military heroes.
Adjacent to the competition will be a street festival to kick off the evening's historic competition. Food and beverage will available for sale, courtesy of the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. Some of the area's special events will have displays, as well as the major bowling sponsors such as Ebonite, Janiking, Lipton, BMN, Turbo, Kegel, Dexter. Finally, souvenir T-shirts will be available for sale.
