The Dirty Heads is one of the most prominent groups in the sub-genre of reggae heavily influenced by ska punk and reggae rock. The group first entered the rock/reggae scene when "Ring the Alarm" was chosen as a song on the first The Pier Magazine Sampler, since then they have been regular chart toppers on Billboard. The band tours heavily across the country and has a wild and loyal fan-base.
Pepper's music is a melodic and accessible blend of alternative pop/rock, punk, and reggae. Formed in 1996, Pepper is hardly the only alt-rock combo inspired by Jamaican sounds. More specifically, Pepper's inspiration is from '70s and early-'80s reggae, Pepper's sound could be described as the Police meets Steel Pulse meets punk-pop.
Aer (pronounced "air") or Fresh Aer Movement, is a rap-rock duo. They introduced themselves to the world in 2010 with the mixtape Water on the Moon, then The Reach mixtape arrived in 2011 along with their debut EP, What You Need. The EP topped the iTunes Hip-Hop chart while their 2012 album, the reggae-tinged The Bright Side, topped the music service's album chart.
