Carve Tahoe

Northstar California Resort
February 8, 2013 - February 14, 2012

This upcoming February, your Northstar après ski is about to get even better! Elite snow carvers from around the world are traveling to Northstar California to participate in Carve Tahoe! Carve is a week-long international snow sculpture competition where you are invited to watch teams transform 25-ton blocks of pure, white Northstar snow into breathtaking masterpieces. And this is no amateur hour. The teams competing are the best of the best – selected from a world-wide applicant pool.

The lead judge is Lawrence Nobel, Chairman of the Sculpture department at Academy of Art University an award-winning sculptor and illustrator.  He is well-known for his famous Yoda Sculpture created for George Lucas which is currently on display in the Presidio in San Francisco, CA.

While the highlight of Carve Tahoe is the talent and skill of the snow carvers from Finland, Germany, Japan, Russia, Canada and the US, of course no event would be complete without a little charity thrown in.

Come watch the carvers sculpt from Feb. 8-14, 2013, followed by rounds of spectator judging and the Carve Award Ceremony on Feb. 13.
