Tige MyWake Global Challenge Live Finals

Sparks Marina - Dog Park Area
October 4, 2013 -October 6, 2013

Wakeboard returns to the Sparks Marina!

Watch 100 athletics from wakeboard, wakesurf and wakeskate compete in the Live Finals.

Tige MyWake Global Challenge is the first of its kind in the wakeboard, wakesurf and wakeskate industry. The three-month worldwide online Pro-Am video contest allows wakeboarders, wakeskaters and wakesurfers to compete against the rest of the world based on video submissions of their riding.

Open to riders of all ages and skill levels, video submissions will be collected between June 1 – Aug 31.  World Wakeboard Association (WWA) judges will review the submissions and select the monthly pro and amateur winners. Those winners will then receive automatic invites to the LIVE FINALS event at the Sparks Marina in a pro-am style contest to battle for the top podium spot behind a new and unseen Tigé boat.

For fans and spectators, it's sure to be a wild water weekend!

Guinness World Record Attempt!
Tuesday, Oct. 1- 6pm (24 hour attempt)

To kickoff the highly-anticipated competition, Tigé has partnered with Day 1 Wake team rider Trevor Miller to attempt to become the first-ever athlete to successfully complete 24 consecutive hours of wakesurfing. The record setting attempt, to be certified by Guinness World Records, will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at Sparks Marina. Spectators are encouraged to attend and witness the amazing feat, admission is free and open to the public.

Having spent the past five months training for the record setting attempt, Miller, a professional wakesurfer, will have technology on his side in addition to his natural skill set. Towing Miller for the entirety of the record attempt will be Tigé’s Z3 boat. With a wake specifically designed for progressive wakesurfing, Miller will have the luxury of going for the record behind one of the sport’s most capable boats.

To achieve the Marathon Wakesurf record, Miller must successfully ride for at least 24 hours straight. In accordance with the Guinness rules, he accumulates five minutes of break time for every full hour of riding completed. Falls are permitted, but riding must be resumed as normal with no delaying to give him a break.
