Argenta presents Circa 1809
Nightingale Concert Hall
October 2, 2009
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Join university music faculty members Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, violin; and James Winn, piano, as they welcome their new cellist and mudic faculty member, Dmitri Atapine, to Argenta. As a winner of the Carlos Prieto and Llanes International Cello Competition (Mexico), Mr. Atapine has since been recognized as an exciting cellist and accomplished chamber musician. Argenta’s program “Circa 1809” celebrates a big year in music when Haydn was born, Mendelssohn died and Beethoven wrote his “Ghost” trio. On this evening’s program are the Haydn Trio in E-flat minor Jacob's Dream, Beethoven Trio in D, Op. 70, No. 1 "Ghost," and the Mendelssohn Trio in c minor, Op. 66. Repertoire subject to change. Please join Argenta after the concert to meet and welcome Dmitri Atapine.
