A 15-time Grammy Award winning musician, Ma explores music beyond the Western classical tradition seeking inspiration and collaboration from many diverse cultures. Of his 75 albums many are classical, yet many defy categorization thanks to partnerships with artists such as Bobby McFerrin and explorations of genres such as Brazilian and Asian. He performs with renowned British pianist Kathryn Stott, not merely an accompanist but a partner in creating a sonic energy through shared music-making. They’re joined by The Assad Brothers, whose guitar playing is rich in Brazilian music tradition and filled with exceptional artistry, innovation and expression.
