WWI Gets The World Motorized
New Exhibit at the National Automobile Museum.
When WWI started in 1914, the principal means of military transportation was the same it had been since the dawn of organized warfare – on the backs of men and animals or wagons drawn by them.
WWI would change that.
See how it all came about in a new “WWI Gets Motorized” exhibit at the National Automobile Museum, The Harrah Collection, at 10 S. Lake St. in downtown Reno.
The demonstrates how both motor vehicles created for military purposes and those originally created for civilian use morphed into multi-purpose vehicles in a time of war.
The exhibit includes personal treasures of a WWI sailor, a poignant reminder of the youth who have fought our battles for freedom.
