Bluegrass returns to Artown with the award-winning Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers for An Evening of Bluegrass and Comedy. Nominated this year for “Best Bluegrass Album” for their work “Rare Bird Alert,” released March 2011, Martin has received four Grammy Awards including “Best Bluegrass Album” for 2009’s “The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo.” He’s backed by The Steep Canyon Rangers who have built a reputation as an engaging acoustic quintet seasoned by constant touring and drawing musical elements from Honky-tonk, classic Country, Bluegrass and Blues. Of course, with a dash of Martin’s trademark wit, the show is lively and entertaining.
