Marriage License Information
STATE OF NEVADA
In the state of Nevada a minister will be needed to perform the wedding ceremony and sign your wedding license. For your convenience wedding chapels usually have non-denominational ministers on staff. Nevada marriage license can be obtained seven days a week at the following offices:Reno Office

- Application Fee: $55. Cash, travelers' checks, and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) are accepted. An additional $10 is charged for a certified copy.
- Identification: A valid driver's license, a certified copy of a birth certificate, passport, or Military ID.
- Waiting Period: None
- Blood Test: None
- Expiration Date: One year from the date of issue
- Age Requirements: 18 years of age or older Note: All fees subject to change
CALIFORNIA
There are several ways to obtain your marriage license on the California side of Lake Tahoe. If you are a resident of California,
you may bring a California License with you (must be a Public License). The cost for the Public License is $50.
You may obtain a license from the following offices:

You may obtain a California Confidential Marriage License. This is a legal document that can be issued by a Notary. Most chapels have a Notary on staff, so the Confidential License can be issued at the chapel. The fee is $65 ($45 for the license and $20 for the Notary). A valid driver's license, passport, Military or State ID is required. For $37, a civil ceremony can be performed at the County Clerk's Office.
- Application Fee: $50 if obtained at County Clerk's office or $65 if obtained through a Notary, $13 for a certified copy.
- Waiting Period: None, except when a divorce has occurred within the last 90 days. In this instance, a copy of the final divorce judgment is required.
- Blood Test: None
- Expiration Date: 90 days from date of issue
- Age Requirements: 18 years of age or older
