On July 11 - 14, 2012, the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA), in cooperation with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Operations will be conducting its 42nd Annual Conference & Exposition at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada. The Conference will bring together over 1,200 practitioners and service providers from around the globe to train, network, and meet on issues facing local, state, and federal airborne law enforcement agencies and personnel.                                                                                             
 
ALEA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational membership organization founded in 1968 to support, promote and advance the safe and effective utilization of aircraft by governmental agencies in support of public safety missions through training, networking, advocacy and educational programs.  
 
During the Conference, there will be numerous training seminars, exhibits, and special events.  Training topics encompass homeland security, operations, legal, medical, alternative aircraft/UAS, and safety issues, to name a few, and will be addressed by public safety and aviation practitioners and specialists.  
 
Prior to the start of the conference on July 9 - 11, there will be three days of Pre-Conference training at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino.  Conference classes will be held on July 11 – 14 at the Convention Center.    The exhibit hall will be open on Wednesday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, on Thursday, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, and on Friday, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.  On Monday, July 9, beginning at 9:00 am and on Friday, July 13, beginning at 4:00 pm, aircraft will be flown to and from the Convention Center.  
 
For the first time and during the exhibit hours, ALEA will host an unmanned aerial system demonstration area inside the exhibit hall at the Convention Center.  Companies interested in exhibiting and/or demonstrating their unmanned systems should contact ALEA.  
 
The Annual Awards Luncheon will be held on Saturday afternoon at the
Peppermill Resort Spa Casino.  During the Luncheon, newly elected/appointed board members will be sworn into office by ALEA President Kurt Frisz and various awards will be presented.
