Dear North American Travel Journalist Association Conference Attendees:

Welcome to Reno Tahoe USA! We are excited that you have chosen our region for your conference this year. As you take a break from your networking and professional development, we have no doubt that you will enjoy discovering the area and find that it is far from expected. From world-class ski and golf resorts, to AAA-baseball in downtown Reno, two whitewater parks, worldclass spa retreats, and Lake Tahoe's spectacular beauty; there are an abundance of options to suit every person's interests and needs. Reno Tahoe USA combines big city choices with small town friendliness. With a convenient airport and great highway access, it's easy to get to and easy to navigate (Lake Tahoe is only a 45-minute drive from Reno). There's plenty to do with year-round special events, and the service comes with a smile. The destination is home to the world's largest all sports store - 295,000 square feet to be exact - and the state of Nevada's only accredited Art Museum, just to name a few. Reno Tahoe USA's local, fresh flavors will tickle your palate with diners and restaurants full of character; from the local hidden gems to celebrity chefs, we have it all.

The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority is pleased to share our destination with you and also look to you to share your experience in the region with your audiences, friends and family. You can offer your insight about our growing retail and restaurant districts, and recount your experience of attending a Reno Aces baseball game, riding the V & T Railroad and sampling fine food and wine at the Nevada Museum of Art.

From the time you arrive in the destination, you will see that Reno Tahoe USA is full of personality and far from anything you expected, but what really sets us apart is a community spirit that makes anyone feel like a local and part of our family.

Sincerely,

Ellen Oppenheim
Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority CEO & President
