Reno Events Center

REC Project:
The Reno Events Center (REC) is part of a two-phase project to develop a special-events venue in downtown Reno. The total project is estimated to cost $65 million and includes the Evens Center and a ballroom/convention area. Cost of the Events Center alone is $28.5 million.

Management:
The Events Center is owned by the City of Reno and managed by the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA). It is a public-private partnership between the City of Reno, RSCVA and NEWCO, which is comprised of hotel/casinos Circus Circus, Harrah’s, Silver Legacy and Eldorado.

It is the fourth major meeting area operated by the RSCVA. The others include the National Bowling Stadium, the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center and the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Funding:
The project was funded through room-tax revenues and a downtown special assessment district.

Location:
Block north of National Bowling Stadium, bounded by Fourth and Fifth Streets, and Center and Lake Streets in downtown Reno

Meeting Facilities:
Multipurpose space on first floor that may be used for concerts/sporting events, large dinners or small conventions and trade shows; as well as meeting rooms/suites on the second floor.

Overall Size:
118,000 sq. ft. with 56,000 sq. ft. of floor space 

First Floor Exhibit Space:
55,000 sq. ft., with retracted, telescopic stadium seating

Second Floor Space:
The facility is jam-packed with great equipment like retractable air walls, which will allow a configuration of ten meeting space or suite rooms ranging from 400 – 825 square feet a total of 4,954 square feet.

Balcony seating outside suites:
285 in three rows

Total seating capacity:
7,500 sq. ft. split among telescopic stadium seating, balcony and floor seats in an arrangement around a 40' by 60' stage.

• Four first-floor snack bars with full kitchen in one
• Escalator access to second-floor suites
• Utility elevator to second-floor suites
• Three loading docks
• Backstage dressing rooms and dining area

• Wheelchair-accessible ticket windows and entrance
