            <description>Number of Events:Artown hosts more than 400 events each July.Free Events:Designed to inspire audiences and showcase all that the arts have to offer, Artown presents a series of free, culturally enriching performances each year. More than 60 percent of Artown&amp;rsquo;s programming is free to the public and includes Festival favorites: Opening Night, Monday Night Music Series, Rollin&amp;rsquo; on the River, Dancing in the Park, Discover the Arts, Movies in the Park and the Family Series.Ticketed Events:In addition to its free series, Artown strives to produce top artistic events featuring phenomenal national and international talent. Highlights during Artown 2009 include Chris Botti, Ottmar Liebert, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and Rhonda Vincent and The Rage.&amp;nbsp; In addition, Artown presents several post-season performances in 2009 and 2010 including The Chieftains, Pilobolus Dance Theater and Itzhak Perlman.             <description>Family Events:Monday brings the family spirit to life with fun-filled performances ranging from music to marionettes, all held in Wingfield Park.&amp;nbsp; Additional family events throughout the month include Discover the Arts programs each weekday in July, theater including a workshop and performance by Missoula Children&amp;rsquo;s Theatre, summer art camps and more.Multicultural Events:Each summer, Artown presents a plethora of multicultural performances, events and celebrations including the World Music Series, the Basque Festival, GospelFest and the Pacific Islands Festival, just to name a few.Youth Outreach:The Festival&amp;rsquo;s &amp;quot;Discover the Arts Series&amp;quot; introduces kids to artistic discovery each weekday in July.&amp;nbsp; In 2009 3,400 kids attended 20 days workshops during the series.&amp;nbsp; Additionally, Missoula Children&amp;rsquo;s Theatre (MCT) hosts workshops for more than 500 youth from disadvantaged and at-risk neighborhoods. Known around the world for its work with children, MCT is internationally renowned for utilizing an entertainment format to foster enrichment and education.&amp;nbsp; Artown dance workshops also allow young dance students the opportunity to learn from dancers, and in 2008 featured Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.&amp;nbsp;</description>
