Reno BitesWe’re giving away an evening for two at Bistro 7’s Wine Pairing Dinner on Tuesday, October 23rd, featuring five decadent courses paired with stellar wines from wineries owned by Reno residents.

Begin your gourmet experience with an Amuse of Diver Scallop on Lotus Chip with Preserved Citrus, Tarragon Aioli & Watercress paired with a 2009 Churchill Vineyard Riesling; then a second course of either Tomato Brie Soup or fresh Caesar Salad paired with 2009 Double Bond Chardonnay; third course is Local Grilled Quail, Herb Demi Reduction, Crispy Pancetta & Sweet Potato Waffle Crisps, paired with a 2009 Carrefour Pinot; fourth course features either a Coffee Rubbed C.A.B. Ribeye with 10oz., ancho maître d butter, smashed red potato, seasonal vegetable, or a Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Lattin Farms Grilled Butternut Squash, Forbidden Rice, Preserved Citrus-Fennel Slaw, Fig-Balsamic Drizzle, paired with a 2007 Grace Patriot Syrah. Complete the evening with Decadence – a Butterscotch Pudding, Caramel & Smoked Maldone salt. Paired with your favorite wine from above. Reservations for the special menu are available starting at 5 p.m.

Calling all foodies! Celebrate Reno’s burgeoning culinary scene during the inaugural Reno Bites restaurant week event, from October 22-28. This inaugural showcase of local culinary hotspots will feature prix fixe menus, specialty items, deals and culinary events citywide, encouraging food lovers to support their community restaurants and explore Reno’s diverse array of menu options.      
Participants include Bistro 7, Burger Me, the Cheese Board, Campo, Composition Café, Gold ‘N Silver Inn, Gourmelt Grilled Cheese Truck, Imperial Bar & Lounge, Men Wielding Fire, Old Granite Street Eatery, PFPCo’s Noble Pie Parlor, SoDo, Un Caffé Italian Bistro, Wet Hen Cafe and Wild River Grille. Special events within the week include a wine pairing dinner at Bistro 7 on Tuesday the 23rd, an eight-course foie gras dinner at Campo on Thursday the 25th at 8 p.m., a multi-course sushi and sake pairing at Composition Café on Wednesday the 24th, and a chefs’ competition at SoDo on Saturday the 27th at 4 p.m.
